These Samburu women have flown their violent husband. Most of them, raped, have been rejected by their relatives. In this arid and dusty area in northern Kenya, they decided to create their own village in 2002, Ltungai (hope in swahili). They now rule their destiny in a collective and democratic way. Their life remains hard, but freedom feeds them, as they say.
